Congratulations to Desirae Barnett and Doc’s Challenger for winning the Reserve High Point for Ages 11-14 at the Open All Breed Horse Show sponsored by the Gulf Coast Appaloosa Club at Still Creek Ranch Arena, Kurten, TX on May 3, 2008. (A point of interest – other Appaloosas won the 11-14 High Point and the 19& over Reserve High Point – let’s please see lots more of this in 2008.) Much time is left in the 2008 Open Show Points year – all shows through December 31st, 2008 count. Print off some forms (or call me to send you some) to keep with your Coggins and other show papers. Get those Appaloosas out before the public, get the show forms signed, and send them to me. Reminder #1: Some classes like Trail and Walk-Trot and some games may be ridden in either English or Western tack. PLEASE SPECIFY which you rode if it is not obvious from the name of the class, or I cannot count those points…. Reminder #2: Points go to the Exhibitor with total points for all horses shown by that person during the year; points are kept on a Horse/Exhibitor basis during the year with final tally of the exhibitor’s points made at the end. (In previous years the award went to the horse, and classes like horsemanship, showmanship, equitation did not count…) So please be sure that the exhibitor’s name is clearly indicated for the various classes.
